Established in 2023

Oktahan BBQ is a family owned and operated BBQ business. Oktahan was formed out of love for family, friends and community. BBQ is a family tradition. I learned the art of barbecuing from my dad, Leonard C Ryan. Dad smoked all of our holiday meats. Whether we were having ham, turkey, chicken, brisket or ribs, dad would smoke them all. Growing up I loved the smell of the wood smoking in the smoker on every holiday. I learned the art of barbecuing from him. Here at Oktahan BBQ we try and maintain that tradition through our barbecue sauce.

My dad taught me how to smoke meats. He was born in a small town in Oklahoma called Oktaha. The town was named after a Native American Indian Chief Oktarharsars Harjo. ​And that's how Oktahan BBQ sauce was born.  My father learned how to cook from his mother. Dad always said that cooking relaxed him. I didn’t understand that back then but now I do.  Smoking meats relaxes me also and it’s something I love to do.

​I've been catering small parties for co-workers and friends for years and the main highlight was always the BBQ sauce.  In 2023 I decided to bottle it up so everyone can have Oktahan BBQ everyday.  ​

My father was born in a small town in Oklahoma called Oktaha. This is where the name of my bbq sauce derives from. Dad did not talk much about his humble beginnings but he did impress on his children that  it’s not where you started from that’s important it’s the in between part that matters and will determine where you end.
